Rose Cottage is situated in the peaceful village of Thorpe Bassett, nestled at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds. The cottage offers beautiful views over farmland, yet is only a short walk from bus routes and local facilities such as the Post Office and general store, two pubs offering evening meals and a fish & chip shop. The village is situated midway between York and Scarborough, and so is ideal for exploring the East Coast, York and the North Yorkshire Moors.
A Warm Welcome Any Time of the Year
Our family run self-catering accommodation offers a warm welcome in a serene and relaxing country location. We offer short breaks from 2 days or week long bookings. The luxury accommodation consists of one double bedroom, and a single bedroom (with a pull out bed beneath) to sleep 3 to 4 people.
Walk the Wolds
Being less than a mile from the Yorkshire Wolds Way, we know that many of our visitors take advantage of some very beautiful country walks through our varied landscape. With fields, woodlands, hills and dales close by you will be able to leave the car behind and soon be in a peaceful lane and enjoying the Yorkshire countryside.
As dog-lovers, we welcome all members of your family so please bring your four-legged friends too - there's no charge! There are lots of safe places to walk your pets and a small paddock for ball games. If you are looking for dog friendly self catering accommodation then you won't be disappointed.
If you like to get around on two wheels then you'll be spoiled for places to ride. Whether you prefer road-racing, mountain-biking or just like to explore the countryside at a more gentle pace then we are well located. We offer secure storage facilities for your bikes, and use of our laundry facilities. The Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Route is about a mile away, and Dalby Forest is about 15 miles away, which offers different ability mountain bike trails and hire.

We're installing a hot tub for the sole use of our visitors this month and will be taking bookings from February 1st. Why not bring your loved one for a romantic break? We'll even leave a bottle of Prosecco chilling in the fridge and some chocolates! Dressing gowns are supplied and we can supply extra towels if you need them.
